Who we are
HouseRunner is a home maintenance app for homeowners and rental owners, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. You can reach us at hello@houserunner.io. This policy covers our website at houserunner.io and the HouseRunner app.
Information we collect
- Waitlist details. If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, any first and last name you provide, and the page where you signed up so we can tell you when HouseRunner is available.
- Account details. If you create an account in the app, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name.
- Home records you add. The information you enter or upload about your properties: appliances, repairs, reminders, documents, receipts, photos, warranties, and related notes.
- Basic usage and device data. Standard technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as app version and error diagnostics.
How we use your information
- To provide the service: store your records, run reminders, and sync across your devices.
- To process documents you choose to extract, so we can pull out structured details for you to review before you accept those details into your home records. Your uploaded document and extraction draft are stored for processing and review.
- To contact you about the waitlist, your account, or important service notices.
- To keep the service secure and to fix problems.
Document processing and AI
When you ask HouseRunner to read a document, that document is sent to our servers and processed by a third-party AI service to extract details such as model numbers, dates, and costs. Your documents are not used to train AI models, and the tool that reads your documents runs on our secure servers, never on your device. You review extracted details before accepting them into your home records; uploaded sources and review drafts are stored earlier in this process.
How your information is stored
Primary property records are stored on Google Cloud (Firestore and Cloud Storage). Some data, including extraction drafts and maintenance-completion history, is stored on your device. Documents and photos are private by default; approved reports can be accessed through the sharing links you create. Cloud data is protected in transit and at rest. We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
How we share information
We do not sell your data. We share information only with service providers who help us run HouseRunner (for example, cloud hosting and the AI processing service described above), and only as needed to provide the service. If you create a HouseRunner sharing link, such as a maintenance-history report for a buyer, anyone holding an active link can view the approved report, including someone who receives a forwarded link. You can revoke the sharing link to stop new access through it. A PDF download URL already issued remains usable until its own expiry, and revocation cannot recall a downloaded or forwarded PDF. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- Access and export. You can export record data from the app. The current JSON export excludes original document and photo files and identifies maintenance-completion history as coming from this device.
- Deletion. You can delete records and use the account-deletion control in the app. Contact us by email if you need help with a deletion request. Audit records may remain after account deletion and can contain invitees' email addresses, IP addresses, and browser user-agent information.
- Waitlist. You can ask us to remove your email from the waitlist at any time.
Children
HouseRunner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product grows. When we do, we will change the effective date above.
