Who we are
HouseRunner is a home maintenance app for homeowners and rental owners, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. You can reach us at hello@houserunner.io. This policy covers our website at houserunner.io and the HouseRunner app.
Information we collect
- Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you submit so we can tell you when HouseRunner is available.
- Account details. If you create an account in the app, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your name.
- Home records you add. The information you enter or upload about your properties: appliances, repairs, reminders, documents, receipts, photos, warranties, and related notes.
- Basic usage and device data. Standard technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as app version and error diagnostics.
How we use your information
- To provide the service: store your records, run reminders, and sync across your devices.
- To process documents you choose to extract, so we can pull out structured details for you to review before anything is saved.
- To contact you about the waitlist, your account, or important service notices.
- To keep the service secure and to fix problems.
Document processing and AI
When you ask HouseRunner to read a document, that document is sent to our servers and processed by a third-party AI service to extract details such as model numbers, dates, and costs. Your documents are not used to train AI models, and the tool that reads your documents runs on our secure servers, never on your device. Extraction results are always shown to you for review before they become saved records.
How your information is stored
Your data is stored on Google Cloud (Firestore and Cloud Storage). Documents and photos are kept private and are never publicly accessible, and your data is protected both in transit and at rest. We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
How we share information
We do not sell your data. We share information only with service providers who help us run HouseRunner (for example, cloud hosting and the AI processing service described above), and only as needed to provide the service. If you create a HouseRunner sharing link, such as a maintenance-history report for a buyer, the information in that report is shared only with the people you send the link to, and you can revoke it. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- Access and export. You can export your records from the app.
- Deletion. You can delete your records, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailing us.
- Waitlist. You can ask us to remove your email from the waitlist at any time.
Children
HouseRunner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product grows. When we do, we will change the effective date above.
